Terms of sale and use.

Written to be read. If anything below is unclear, ask before you buy rather than after.

Who you are buying from

Hawser is sold by Onur Yavuz. Contact: yaveez.dev@gmail.com.

Payment is processed by Polar, who acts as merchant of record for the transaction. Your card statement and your receipt come from Polar, they handle sales tax and VAT where it applies, and their terms cover the payment itself. They collect on behalf of Onur Yavuz, who is who you are buying from and who this page is written by. If the provider ever changes, this page changes with it.

What you are licensed to do

On purchase you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use the Hawser kit's source code, scripts and documentation to build and ship your own applications. Specifically, you may:

What you may not do

Shipping an application built with the kit is not redistribution. That is the entire purpose.

Refunds

Sales are final. The complete source is delivered at the moment of purchase and source code cannot be returned, which is why the sample, the full documentation of what is inside, and the list of what the kit deliberately does not do are all published before the payment page.

This does not remove rights you have under your own consumer law. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants a statutory right of withdrawal for digital goods, that right applies regardless of what this page says, and our payment provider handles those requests as merchant of record. If you believe you are entitled to one, write to us.

Updates

Fixes and improvements to version 1 are included and delivered through your original download link. We do not promise a release schedule, a specific future feature, or compatibility with a version of macOS or Xcode that does not exist yet. What has actually shipped is listed on the changelog.

Warranty and liability

The kit is provided as is. It is a set of scripts and source code that runs on your machine, against your Apple Developer account, to produce your application. You are responsible for what you ship.

We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that it will work with every future version of macOS, Xcode, Sparkle or any payment provider, or that Apple will accept a given submission. To the maximum extent permitted by law our total liability arising from the kit is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Apple, Sparkle and third parties

Hawser is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. An Apple Developer Program membership is bought from Apple, on Apple's terms, and is required for Developer ID signing regardless of what tooling you use. Sparkle is a separate open-source project under its own licence, included in the kit under that licence.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the version in force for your purchase is the one published on the day you bought. The date at the top of this page is the version currently on sale.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
